On to 2009

Thank you all for commemorating with us at the UN, the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human rights. You all helped to make of the Universal Declaration a vital 60 year old with many centuries of life in it yet.

And thank you for making this website a success-over 500 projects and initiatives were posted on our Wall of Events. We wanted to engage you but also inform you on your birthrights, and judging by your response, we seem to have done both. Thank you.

In the next few weeks this website will be linked to two others to be launched once again by the UN’s Regional Information Centre for Western Europe-UNRIC. One, again on Human rights, will be called Learning Human rights 2009, which as its name suggests, will be a platform for what is being taught on Human rights to students from primary school to universities in Europe. Another, which will be UNRIC’s second European public information campaign will concentrate on the Environment with a view to the conference in Copenhagen in December 2008, is to be called CoolPlanet2009.

So watch this space for Coolplanet2009 and thank you again.
